Deciding to start therapy and choosing the right therapist can come with many questions and uncertainties. Whether you're curious about what to expect or how to get started, we hope you find the information helpful. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us directly HERE.
We all experience challenges or go through difficult times in our life. And it’s perfectly normal to have intense or negative emotions at times. We’re human after all. Most of the time we’re able to get through it on our own or with the support of family and friends. But sometimes we end up needing more, or we don’t know what to do, or those emotions and challenges don’t seem to be going away. Some of us may not have the support we need. That’s when therapy might be helpful.
Therapy can benefit anyone who is struggling with a mental health challenge. But, it is not limited to only formally diagnosed mental health concerns. Having an objective space to explore personal growth, overall emotional well-being, health and chronic illness management, and common life stressors (i.e. work, school, parenting, divorce, aging, bereavement, and family conflict) can be a game changer.
Choosing the right therapist is a crucial step in your journey towards mental well-being and overall health. Here are some things to consider when deciding if Revive & Thrive Therapy is the best fit for your needs.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing for 16+ years in New Jersey and New York, our therapist has worked with a variety of client populations addressing various mental and emotional concerns including: Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Trauma/PTSD, Bipolar Disorder and more. We believe that overall wellness must include a focus on both mental and physical health as they are intertwined. We are trained and experienced in using behavioral health interventions to help with chronic health management and pain.
Creating a genuine, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings is crucial. We believe that therapy should not be one-size fits all, as every client is a unique individual with unique needs and preferences. Together, we will develop a personalized evidence-based approach to meet your specific goals and challenges. We are verified by various platforms but more importantly, we are trusted and endorsed by other professionald and our own clients. We work with primarily adult, adolescent, and geriatric clients so we are well versed in the wide spectrum of biopsychosocial development. Language barriers are not an issue for many as we offer psychotherapy sessions in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
In addition to working directly with clients, we are certified to provide clinical supervision to therapists who are not yet fully licensed (LSW) as well as certified as Field Instructors (SIFI) for graduate social work students.
We offer both Individual Therapy and Family Therapy using a range of evidence-based and personalized interventions. A combination of the two can be schedueld if needed and if appropriate. We collaborate with our clients to identify what interventions and treatment modalities would be best depending on their needs and preferences.
Some common interventions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma Focused, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths Based Approach, Family Systems Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.
Common concerns we work with include: Depression, Anxiety, Trauma and PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, panic attacks, ADHD, behavioral concerns, grief/loss, chronic illness management, self esteem, and stress management. We also address multiple life stressors and transitions.

There is increasing demand for mental health services but unfortunately many people have difficulty accessing the help they want and need because of costs. In order to keep costs down, we are currently only offering virtual sessions at this time. Don't worry if technology is not your friend. Our video conferencing service is easy to use and we can walk you through the quick set up, step by step. Video sessions are preferable but if video still does not seem like the right thing for you or if video conferencing is uncomfortable for you, we can do telephone only sessions.
We offer a brief (up to 15 minutes) telephone or video consultation for free. During this time we answer any questions you may have, verify insurance benefits and what your costs would be, as well as review if we are a good fit for your psychotherapy needs. It is important to make sure that we are able to offer what you are looking for and/or need.

Your first session is an assessment where we will gather information about your health and personal history. We will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, any symptoms you may be having, and your goals for treatment. This will help us formulate an initial treatment plan and provide recommendations.

The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Most clients attend therapy once a week, especially in the beginning. Others may attend less frequently. We will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Our available times vary and include days, evenings, and weekends. Our online scheduler has some recurring openings. However, more options can be made available upon request.
There are multiple ways to schedule an appointment with us. Please keep in mind that new client appointments need to be confirmed by our office if they are being scheduled online. Also, new client registration forms need to be completed, signed, and returned prior to your scheduled appointment.
We are normally able to schedule someone within 1-2 weeks. We are not set up as an on-call or emergency service. If you feel like you are in urgent need, in crisis, in danger of hurting yourself or someone else please seek immediate attention at any of the following:
Our session rates vary depending on type of session. Follow-up therapy sessions for established clients are a standard 45 minutes and cost $100. New client appointments are $120 since they are more involved and may take longer than a normal session. New client appointments last 45-60 minutes. Sessions other than the standard 45 minutes may be possible. Please contact us if this is something you are interested so we can review rates and feasibility of being able to do so.
Yes! We accept most major health insurances through out-of-network coverages. We are more than happy to explain how out-of-network coverages work and verify for you if your particular health insurance plan has those benefits. Many out-of-network providers give you what is called a "Superbill" for you to submit to your insurance. We make it easy and do all of that for you.
